Amanda Trevelino is a writer and nutritionista certified in plant-based nutrition and passionate about living well. Having spent years in the public relations and magazine writing businesses, she’s seen more spin than a disco ball. Along the way, she’s dined in secret Havana paladares, on private Caribbean islands, at New York’s James Beard House (bone marrow flan, anyone?), and with critic John Mariani; not to mention feeding elementary students from their own garden; paddling Costa Rican estuaries; and interviewing fitness pioneer Jane Fonda.
She now prefers the simple power of just-picked produce, the wonder of unspoiled destinations and the prospect of unlimited dark chocolate. As the parent of a VeggieKid , she experiences the importance of encouraging the next generation to be more responsible than the last, and to question everything they’re taught. As a sister of a cancer survivor, she longs to advocate for greater awareness of self-health, and again to question everything taught.
Amanda Trevelino has been a featured blogger and worked as contributing editor for The Atlantan, Modern Luxury Publishing; feature writer for Veranda; contributor to Southern Living, Atlanta Magazine Home, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles. She’s been a PR consultant, public relations director for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and public relations director for Atlanta Ballet. She studied at University of Georgia, and with eCornell. Amanda also has a teaching certification in yoga and has completed a raw foods immersion on an isolated Costa Rica camp.
