Cafe Lola, Johnson City, TN
Cafe Lola is a charming little bistro and wine bar. The owners, Tara and Hunter, named this quaint little restaurant after one of their twin daughters, Lola. They also own our favorite Thai restaurant in Johnson City called Jade’s Market and Eatery, named after their other daughter, Jade.
Tara is a lovely, willow-thin genial young woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to offer her customers a satisfying meal. Hunter is an energetic, affable young man who will make you feel right at home.
For lunch I had the Pressed Panini Sandwich with Grilled Vegetables (omit the cheese) and a side of pasta salad. Rich had the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich on thick toasted bread with a side of salad. Both were delicious! Cafe Lola’s offers the Pressed Panini Sandwich with Grilled Vegetables (you’ll have to ask to substitute the cheese with extra vegetables) on her dinner menu for $8.95 and Garden Vegetables in Thai-Style Red Curry Sauce for $10.95. She can convert any of her salad dishes to vegan in a moment’s notice. At lunch she offers a half sandwich and a cup of soup or a small house salad for $7.95.
